Singapore Open 2019: PV Sindhu reaches Quarter-Final by defeating Mia Blichfeldt

Singapore : Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu entered the women’s singles quarter-finals of the Singapore Open 2019 badminton tournament, after winning a straight game at Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt.

Fourth seed PV Sindhu defeated 22nd ranked Mia Blichfeldt by 21-13, 21-19 in 39 minutes in the world. This is their second consecutive win against the Danish player.

World number six Sindhu will face the World Junior Championship bronze medalist Chinese player Cai Yanyan.

In the first game, it was a by 3-0 lead and kept it till the end, but in the second game, the score was at one time 8-8, after which Indian players were 11-15 behind at one time.

PV Sindhu, who reached the semi-finals of India Open last month, however, came back and scored 17-17 and then did not delay in making the match his name.
