Fast bowler Vernon Philander will not play second Test against Sri Lanka

Port Elizabeth has been ruled out of the second Test against Sri Lanka starting here on Thursday due to injuries of South African fast bowler Vernon Philander hamstring.

According to the ICC website report, Vernon Philander is the fourth number of bowler in the world ranking and now he has been out of the field for 10-12 days.

In place of Philander, 21-year-old non-seasoned player, Wiaan Mulder, can be included in the team.

33-year-old Philander took four wickets for South Africa in the first Test match played in Durban. The hosts had to face a defeat by a wicket in Sri Lanka’s hands in this match.
