New Delhi : Election Commission has taken a major decision to ban Prime Minister Narendra Modi biopic movie. The film was being released on 11th April itself.
The voting of the first phase for the Lok Sabha elections will be held tomorrow. Earlier, the EC had asked the CBFC to write a letter to inform the situation about the certification status of the PM Modi biopic movie.
Prior to this, the Supreme Court rejecting the petition filed on Tuesday to ban the film’s performance, said that the Election Commission will be the appropriate place for such relief.
The court had said that if this film is also displayed on 11th April, as the Congress worker claims, then he will have to go to the Election Commission for relief. The petition was filed by Congress worker Aman Panwar.
The bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Sanjeev Khanna dismissed the petition saying, “We, therefore, do not consider it worthy of consideration.
Vivek Oberoi Starrer This movie is directed by Omang Kumar. On the side of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) i.e. the censor board, the film has been issued an unrestricted (U) certificate.
Umang said in a statement, “The team and I knew what we had created. This is a cinema, no propaganda and now the censor board has verified this thing, which we are saying. The film depicts the journey of life from the early days of Modi’s life to the prime minister.
