Delhi govt approved Rao Tula Ram, underpass cost up by Rs 50 crore

New Delhi : Delhi cabinet has given approval and expenditure sanction to the construction cost of Rao Tula Ram Road flyover and Benito Juarez Marg underpass project.

Officials said the construction cost of the corridor improvement of Outer Ring Road between IIT Gate and NH-8.

Increased due to the shifting of some underground utilities and compensatory plantation of saplings against some trees that were cut to make way for the project.

The revised cost of the project is now estimated at Rs 364.87 crore, an increase of Rs 51.2 crore from the initial cost of Rs 313.67 crore.

The construction of the twin project (Rao Tula Ram Road flyover and Benito Juarez Marg underpass) had started in November 2014 and was scheduled to be completed in December 2016. But it has already missed a few deadlines and is likely to be ready by May 2019.
