Afghanistan-Ireland series will be played on Indian ground

Dehradun : Afghanistan will host Ireland T20 International, ODI and Test Series from 21st February to 19th March at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here. Ireland will play three T20, five ODIs and one Test on this tour.

Afghanistan-Ireland series will be the first test on an overseas tour for Ireland. Last year, the ICC gave status of Test play with full membership to Afghanistan and Ireland.

Last year, Ireland made a Test against Pakistan in a domestic match, in which the team had to face defeat by five wickets.

Afghanistan’s debut match was in Bangalore against India, in which they lost the innings and 262 runs. This is the second time when both teams face each other in the bilateral series.

Last time in the series in Ireland, Afghan won the T20 and ODI series.
