Tax evasion, bank fraud case: 47 months imprisonment to Paul Manafort

Alexandria : Paul Manafort, who led Donald Trump’s campaign in the US presidential election, was sentenced to 47 months in prison for tax evasion and bank fraud.

This is the most stringent punishment given to a presidential colleague in the investigation of Special Counsel Robert Muller in Russia’s Intervention Case, but people expected that 69-year-old political adviser would be given much more punishment.

While reprimanding Muller’s call for a stringent punishment, the judge described the official guidelines as “excessive” for the 19 to 24-year jail term.

But a case will be heard in Paul Manafort next week in a case in which he can be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years. In the case, the sympathy for the prosecution of the judge is also clear.
